'63-66 A-Body Swaps

The early A-Body has an engine compartment that is about 2" narrower than the '67 and up models. For this reason, installing a B/RB engine is extremely difficult, requiring a great deal of cutting on the fenderwell and a custom exhaust system. We do not offer a conversion kit for this swap. A much easier upgrade for these cars is to swap from Slant 6 to 273/318 or S6 or V8 to 340/360. These swaps are a direct bolt-on, requiring no fabrication. In 340/360 swaps, the narrow engine compartment bay does not leave room for a 340/360 manifold on the driver's side. The driver's side exhaust manifold will have to be a 273 style. The casting number for the 273 LH (driver side) manifold is #2465 847.
